Rebecca Hall in Radio Times

I discovered that Rebecca Hall is in the new issue of the Radio Times so I bought a copy and scanned the pages.

The fact that Christina Ricci was on the cover in a 1960s air hostess uniform might have had something to do with me picking up the magazine in the first place...

Downton Abbey sisters in Radio Times

I know I was a little bit hard on Downton Abbey in my last post to this blog. However that didn't stop me from buying the new issue of the Radio Times that has a photo of the three Crawley sisters on the cover.

I'll be honest, I only bought it because there was a photo of the three Crawley sisters on the cover. I suspect it's largely to do with my strange and increasing attaction to the middle sister Edith.

Regardless of my motivations for buying said magazine here is a fairly good quality scan of the cover featuring Laura Carmichael, Jessica Brown Findlay and Michelle Dockery.

There are some actual words in an article about them inside the mag but I didn't bother scanning those.

I might tune in next Sunday night for a few minutes to see if Edith gets off with the Titanic guy.

Probably.

Karen Gillan in Radio Times

Sometimes the the people who put together the Radio Times make it very easy for me to decide to buy it. Take the new issue out today. Karen Gillan? On the cover? Four-page article inside? Sold!

They have an added bonus of some more Karen on their website:

Ruth Wilson's Luther in Radio Times

Just two weeks ago the Radio Times contained a Ruth Wilson article for The Prisoner. Now she is on the cover of the new issue promoting the BBC's new crime drama Luther along with Idris Elba from The Wire.

Above is the cover image I scanned and I have left it extra large. Below are the interior page scans, mainly focusing on Idris Elba but Ruth gets a mention and there are a couple of photos of her. Looking typically stunning I might add.

Episode 1 of Luther is due to air on BBC1 on Tuesday 4 May 2010.

Ruth Wilson article in Radio Times

The new issue of the Radio Times went on sale today and featured inside is a Ruth Wilson article to promote the first episode of The Prisoner, due for broadcast on ITV on Saturday 17 April 2010. See below for my scans. The full-page picture of Ruth turned out better than I thought it would so I left it extra big.

The article confirms that she will next be seen in Luther and the movie Cleanskin and also that she has been to Hollywood to talk to producers.

Darcey Bussell in Radio Times

I'm not remotely interested in ballet dancing and I don't follow Strictly Come Dancing, but I do have a lot of time for Darcey Bussell. Here she is looking typically lovely in the current issue of the Radio Times...

Small Island article in Radio Times

Here are the four Small Island pages from the current issue of the Radio Times. I've actually been meaning to scan this since the weekend but kept putting it off due to the less than expected Ruth content. Small Island is also covered in most of the other TV listings mags this week. Anyway, here are the scans...

Remember, part 1 is on next Sunday!

Emma in Radio Times plus actual broadcast date

I knew that Emma would be on our screens soon, but I had no idea it would be as early as next Sunday, 4 October 2009. I discovered this fact when I had a look at the new issue of the Radio Times today which has actress Romola Garai prominently displayed on the cover.

Below are the my inevitable scans. They are a bit big, mind.

What else can I tell you? It's comprised of four episodes. It's written by Sandy Welch who did such a fine job on Jane Eyre 3 years ago. Johnny Lee Miller is in it which is confusing as he was in the Mansfield Park movie a few years ago. Christina Cole is in it but is not listed in the cast list for the first episode. Michael Gambon is in it and he's always good value.

There was an interesting fact in the article: Wuthering Heights sat unaired for a couple of years because ITV has to pay a big chunk of the production costs when things are shown and they couldn't afford it! In fact the article looks at the likelihood (or otherwise) of seeing costume drams over the coming years. Small Island gets a mention too.

Oh, by the way, I've just realised that I started this blog thing about a year ago. Happy birthday to me.
